I used to suffer from anxiety quite bad but once I started yoga and "learned" how to breathe (sounds funny hey), I know how to calm myself down now. Thanks for the reminder and I hope you feel better too :-)Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12221362768923638404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37780512.post-78173439127412404232007-06-06T23:00:00.000+02:002007-06-06T23:00:00.000+02:00ah yes...it's all about the breath, isn't it? :) ...ah yes...it's all about the breath, isn't it? :) I can completely empathize with the slow internet. Interes...Dear Nadine, Thanks so much for the post! Interestingly, it was just a couple of weeks ago that I was reminded the joy of inhale. My whole Yoga experience has been focued on surrender, let go, exhale fully and longer, etc. Then Rod Stryker has talked about the importance of 1:1 breathing. I discovered that after all these years of working on exhaling, that my inhales had become weak! So, YES, let's all inhale and love every moment of it :-)
Love, Kris KKrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18112238121767903592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37780512.post-53809746961558433422007-06-04T18:40:00.000+02:002007-06-04T18:40:00.000+02:00hey, nadine....I did a workshop with Max Strom yes...hey, nadine....

I did a workshop with Max Strom yesterday and he is ALL ABOUT THE BREATH. After the workshop I thanked him profusely for emphasizing the BREATH over any asana in our practice.

He's a great storyteller and he said that that yogis in New York are the strongest he has ever seen, but they can't BREATH to save their lives. He also said that someone asked him once, after mastering an "advanced" pose, "how do I go deeper?" He said, "breath". Then the same person asked, a bit perturbed, "I AM breathing, how do I go deeper?" Max said, "imagine that you are doing yoga...."

Max is awesome! check him out at http://www.maxstrom.comLinda-Samahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07664989345039365084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37780512.post-91400956808669367602007-06-04T03:24:00.000+02:002007-06-04T03:24:00.000+02:00It really is the best reminder and the quickest wa...It really is the best reminder and the quickest way to make a change within. Just take a moment to "check in" with your breathe. I remind my clients of that all them time and they are always amazed at how much more focus and calm they feel, instantly.
